Alexandros started reception back in September and took a great interest in the topic space. When I heard that ampersand were putting on a sci fi afternoon tea I jumped at the opportunity. I love an afternoon tea but never thought it would be possible to do such a treat with a little boy. Well I was wrong, he loved every aspect of it.

The afternoon consists of a journey of discovery through award combination of teas, dishes and sweet treats, where physics and chemistry meet in a curious alchemy to create an out-of-this-world dining experience.

During the Afternoon Tea, you will taste the limits of culinary ingenuity, sampling jellies served in petri dishes, chocolate spacemen and not-so-ancient edible fossils, bound together in innovative combinations of flavour and texture.

You’ll leave feeling one step closer to the stars, and as full as a T-rex after a dinner of Triceratops.

This one-of-a-kind Science Afternoon Tea was conceived as a complement to one of the giants of the South Kensington community — the Science Museum — an interactive haven of rare objects, incredible stories of scientific achievement, and ultimately, a testament to mankind’s limitless ingenuity.

The ampersands have also won the Best Themed Afternoon Tea category at the Afternoon Tea Awards 2018.
